Hi I’m Sean, I'm an Independent artist, songwriter and producer, described by BEAT magazine as “a singer that rings of a soulful folk-pop sound”. I’ve put out 40+ songs since 2019, including 2 EPs and my debut album, amassing over 1.5m listens across the globe. I've been lucky to find genuine fans along the way, through busking, local live shows, and viral moments on social media. Following the release of my EP “In The Half-Light” in 2024, I reached 25k monthly listeners on Spotify, placing me in the top 2% of artists worldwide.
I've landed songs on Spotify editorial playlists; Fresh Finds (1.2m subs) and Fresh Finds Pop, and regularly get plays on algorithmic playlists like Discover Weekly and Release Radar. I've collaborated with local and international artists, including Korean DJ, Minlee (1.2m followers), Francis Li, Shayne Cook and MOZË. I've had songs signed to label deals with Position Music (L.A.) and Baby Lemon (Seoul) and have had numerous tracks accepted into L.A.-based Crucial Music's sync catalogue. I'm a 3-time semi-finalist at the ISC (International Songwriting Competition) and I’ve had spins on national (TripleJ) and local radio (RRR and JoyFM).
ABOUT SEÁN
I grew up in Dublin and first picked up a guitar and began singing when I was 8 years old, learning the basics from my Dad and a 3-chord songbook. I went on to study Fine Art and Digital Media and have worked as a graphic and product designer, both in Dublin and Melbourne. All the while, I’ve continued to write, record and produce my own music. I also play drums, bass, keys and cello at an intermediate level.
Since 2019, I’ve been working on my music with a renewed focus, crafting my own sound and producing tracks from either my home studio or various studios around Melbourne. I’ve played live shows at The Northcote Social Club, The Gasometer Hotel, The Workers Club and The Drunken Poet, along with appearances at Sofar Sounds, open mics and busking.
